In addition, this segment of the Group’s operations provides insurance and commodity broking services to both producers and consumers of primary agricultural products. The Group’s Treasury and Zambian operations are also included in this segment.

Furthermore, a wide range of services, skills and expertise are also available to customers in various other sectors of the economy involved in International trade, focusing on product development and specialised services to those sectors. GroCapital Financial Services follows an integrated approach to market needs, with the customer’s profitability a priority

Treasury and International Trade Finance

At GroCapital Financial Services, we strive to be the ultimate gateway for international trade and foreign exchange products and services through the provision of innovative, flexible and tailor-made solutions to suit all international trade finance and foreign exchange needs.

In this regard, we have obtained South African Reserve Bank approval to transact directly with clients holding hedging instruments such as forward exchange agreements or collars. The entire administrative and exchange control processing is taken care of on behalf of the client, making life a lot easier and saving money.

Specialised Finance

Specialised Finance supplies tailor made & innovative financial solutions to the secondary agricultural and related industries with a focus on emerging markets with an emphasis on Africa. This includes matching financing needs to best suited financing packages as well as facilitating import and export documentation and proceeds.

Commodity Price Risk Management

The Broking division offers clients a facility to hedge price risk of agricultural commodities such as maize, sunflower and wheat on SAFEX which is part of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). Clients can also trade on Yield-X, also part of the JSE offering clients, individuals or companies the opportunity to enter into futures and options transactions such as currency, bond and other interest rate derivative futures and options.
